Project Goal

The goal of Leading Ladies is to empower, expose, and educate our 9-12 grade level students to opportunities that will provide a space and place to grow and gain knowledge and awareness of opportunities and services that are available to them for their future. 

 

How Project Benefits Students

The Leading Ladies Mentoring project will benefit students through exposure to the arts, athletics, and academics, experiences in professional development, test-taking strategies and skills, and etiquette (social and professional). Bring community services into the schools to provide knowledge and awareness and provide field trip opportunities to share and learn.
Students will experience:
Social etiquette Training with expert Tia Young
Financial Literacy Training
Career and College Planning and preparation
Exposure to the Arts at the Straz
Goal setting
Mental Health and Self-Care introductions
Potentially College and vocational program visits.
 

 

Expected Outcome(s)

The expected outcomes include but are limited to:
Reduction in discipline referrals
Increase in self confidence
Increase in academic success
Increase in awareness beyond site based experience
Academic and high learning opportunities
Awareness to professional opportunities including but not limited to real estate; trades and more 

 

Detailed Cost Summary

This costs requested include the contracts of several workshop presenters ($750), light snacks ($500), materials for participants can take notes ($250), transportation ($500).
