Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Michael & Sylvia Pheneger - $1,315.80
This year we would like to expand our school garden to include a duck / fish pond. Last year we expanded our birding / lifecycles school program to include hatching chicks. This year we would like that to include hatching ducklings and watching lifecycles of frogs and fish. We would also like to keep our ducks on campus. We will be continuing our school vegetable and butterfly garden as well as composting. We will also continue our hydroponic studies and water conservation studies school wide. We will also continue our school wide garden club to meet these goals that we start last year with our Green Paws two grant.
Class Furniture - Carpets, choral risers, transitional seating/desks, etc.
This project will benefit our school by helping ALL of our 750 students become involved in our garden and lifecycles with both their classrooms and through our garden club. They will have hands on science lessons through our outdoor classrooms with both our duckpond area and garden area. We also now have indoor lifecycle classroom where our chicks, ducks, and butterflies are hatched as part of this project. Students learn to compost and garden with worms, learn bird habitats and adaptations, water conservation and water cycles, and so much more with our garden club program. We also incorporate weather stations into our outdoor classrooms and different types of plants and their affect on insects into our learning. There is so much learning that happens from our pre-K classes all the way to our 5th grade classes all year round. We hope that you will help us again this year. This grant has had a HUGE impact on our school the past two years. Please help us again continue to grow our program.
We will have a beautiful school pond with plants and fish that will be it's own ecosystem. We will have a very successful year with 750 students very engaged in science. Our science scores will go up in all grades do to the engagement and standards covered in science through this program. We will have a huge buy in from all involved , especially our community partners and school family volunteers.
The total cost of our grant is $1,541.42. This will cover all of our projects for our school garden club and projects this year for our Green Paws part three school year grant outlined above. I hope you will help us with this amazing project. So many kiddos will benefit and have a love for gardening, animals, insects, growing, cooking, lifecycles, water conservation, composting, birding, and sooooo much more thanks to you!
