The goal of this project is to expose students to STEM education. This will better prepare them for the 21st-century job market, providing them with real-world applications. It will allow them to critically think, problem-solve, work in teams, all while being adaptable and creative.
By granting this project, students will be using the materials several times a week. Our district has implemented a STEM block of time, several times a week. Students will be able to work with one another to build, create, and design activities. This will allow them to experience the engineering design process, hands on, while using real world applications.
The project will benefit 50 students, in 4th grade for 2022-2023. Furthermore, it will benefit other students in future years, because all the materials will be reused. The expected outcome of the project is to provide students with a chance to critically think, problem-solve, work in teams, foster curiosity, and be creative.
