My goal for this project is to get more students reading for fun by getting them interested in series books, such as Harry Potter, The Last Kids on Earth, Magic Treehouse, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and many more.
Students are more likely to stay out of trouble when they are invested in a book that doesn't just end at the last page. Students have been more interested in series shows on Netflix, Hulu, etc. so why not put the thrill of finding out what happens next in a book?
Research has shown students are not reading as much because they do not find it enjoyable. I want to find books that spark interests in students who are at the prime age where peer-pressure and character development are at an all time high. I expect at least 75% of the students to find a book that interests them and read one or more books as part of a series.
These costs are based on Scholastic book prices. Some are individual book prices added into one sum as part of a series and others are the price for the collection as a set.
