My project goal is to enhance student learning by providing valuable resources in the form of class sets of specific books that assist students in mastering the Florida State Mathematical Standards.
I provided my Geometry students with these books last year at my own expense. The students all indicated that using these books was extremely helpful in their understanding of the standards and resulted in 100% of my Geometry students passing their Florida State Geometry EOC exam.
Therefore, this year I am seeking to expand that success by providing access to these books for all of my students in the form of a class set of each course book. This series of texts are "student friendly", colorful, concise, contain easy to understand notes and graphics, while focusing on core content standards.
I plan to enhance all my students' overall mastery of general mathematics, Algebra, and Geometry. The use of these texts should also assist students in quickly filling in any gaps in their learning. This will be accomplished by providing all students access to the same series of books that helped my Geometry students with their success last year.
The expected outcome is that all of my students will be able to use these books to master the Florida State Mathematical Standards and quickly fill in any gaps in their prior learning.
The cost reflects the price per book for a class set of 30 each with the purchase of replacements for any lost, stolen or defaced copies. I anticipate being able to use them for at least five years.
