Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Verizon Foundation - $678.02
Students will explore a variety of math concepts/standards by playing educational board games with their peers.
It has long been established that board games help children develop spatial reasoning, critical thinking, logical, and reasoning skills. Games involving numbers can build number sense and target key math concepts such as multiplication, division, fractions, measurement and more. This grant would fund a variety of educational board games that students could play with classroom friends on a daily basis throughout the entire school year.
Playing these educational board games with friends provides students the opportunity to build number sense and encourage risk taking in math in a non-threatening and relaxed environment.
These games would be shared among 4 teachers and benefit 8 classes totaling about 165 students.
The amount of $678.02 includes (4) of each game listed. Each of our 3rd grade math teachers would receive all 11 games listed for their classroom.
