Project Goal

Students across 6th grade level will have the opportunity to participate in art sessions in order to gain release from anxiety and stress.

How Project Benefits Students

With depression and anxiety on the rise in youth, art can provide an opportunity for students to create something positive while releasing frustrations and stresses experienced in life. Students who are not enrolled in art class may also join the art teacher for painting sessions. With the use of wet-on-wet watercolor techniques, every child can create something beautiful, no matter the skill level.

Expected Outcome(s)

Biweekly creative sessions afterschool and monthly relaxation sessions in the art classroom.
