Find It Fund It Florida - Hillsborough Education Foundation

My goal of this project is to engage my students in literature that was selected by state educators as our Sunshine State books (SSYRA Books). I plan to use these book sets in guided groups the help check comprehension and have them display their learning in a project at the end. While reading, they will discuss importance- character and plot development, summarizing, cause and effect and many more concepts learned throughout the year. They will read the books while collaborating with others and compare their thoughts on the book in a book review for other classmates to see. Students will then create a visual display to show the importance of the book at the end.

How Project Benefits Students

It will help them get excited about reading and for me to check their understanding during their independent and guided reading time. It will also help them read more SSYRA books since there are limited quantities at our school.

Expected Outcome(s)

Students will be able to read more SSYRA book while improving their fluency and comprehension. I will also be able to track their reading through discussions when pulled.
