How Project Benefits Students

As a nationally recognized math honor society, reestablishing Mu Alpha Theta Will give students the opportunity to build upon their mathematical understanding with their peers and with students throughout Hillsborough County. These students will have the ability to gain confidence in themselves, build communication skills, and understand the importance of teamwork.

Expected Outcome(s)

By reestablishing Mu Alpha Theta, students will be able to become engaged in strengthening their mathematical skills and understanding. For each of the competitions, I plan to have at least 30 students compete. As the title states, this is to help reestablish the honor society at Lennard High School which is a Title 1 School. The competitions that I listed are for the 4 regional competitions that are within the county except for the first competition which is in Fort Myers.

The costs in the budget will help cover all expenses to help Mu Alpha Theta started and reactivated in the proper memberships in order for students to compete in the 2023 - 2024 school year. State Registration fee of $120.00 covers 12 students and the remaining $15 per student for $270.00 will be the remaining 18 students.
