Project Goal

The goal of this project is to acquire a variety of classroom reward prizes that will serve as incentives for students. These rewards will be distributed based on academic performance, exceptional behavior, and active participation in classroom activities in my chorus classes and Access Music class. The positive reinforcement created by these rewards will encourage students to strive for excellence and contribute to a positive classroom atmosphere. 

 

How Project Benefits Students

It is often challenging to encourage students to try something new such as singing around their peers. In a class in which the learning process is participation based, it is imperative that students develop a positive relationship with singing in an encouraging and safe environment. Students will benefit from this project by taking ownership for their learning as a result of the increased motivation, which will then lead to enhanced academic performance and achievements. Students will also benefit from a positive classroom culture and environment that is pleasant and exciting to come to each day. Students will develop confidence as they find safety and joy in volunteering to answer questions, contribute to classroom discussions, and sing alone in front of their peers.  

 

Expected Outcome(s)

Students will be excited to participate and try new things, and will grow into silent leaders through displaying positive behavior traits for the classroom and ensemble environment. This project will result in an overall positive classroom culture that increases learning, retention in the chorus program, and student confidence.
