Suncoast Credit Union - $407.63
Students will learn to paint a still life on a canvas.
The project benefit 141- 5th grade students. A still life is one of the genres used in their grade level curriculum, painting, talking about art and learning to create is part of the Florida Art standards. The non-consumable materials such as brushes or consumable left over paint can be used for other students as well. Usually, elementary students do not experience using a canvas but only paper, using a canvas brings up their Visual arts experience to a higher level just as a practicing artist. Students will keep their canvases to share with their families.
The project will benefit directly 141 - 5th grade students.
The project's non consumable materials such as brushes can benefit all students since brushes can be used for many years and with different ages.
The change result is to build up the art program at our school to a much more solid foundation for middle school. Experiences that are varied, enriching, cross curricular also build their vocabulary and visual thinking skills. These experiences help improve not only art test scores but can aid in vocabulary for other subject areas as well.
