Find It Fund It Florida - Hillsborough Education Foundation

This year I would like to teach my students the importance of giving to others. Nothing makes a person's day more than receiving a small gift that they did and expect. Through the kindness counts initiative my students will have a chance to do this with me. I plan to decorate a small rolling cart and each week pick a team to receive a small gift. In the beginning, the plan is just to have snacks to share. I think this is a great way to build morale in the school.

Project Goal

This year I would like to teach my students the importance of giving to others. Nothing makes a person's day more than receiving a small gift that they did and expect. Through the kindness counts initiative my students will have a chance to do this with me. I plan to decorate a small rolling cart and each week pick a team to receive a small gift. In the beginning, the plan is just to have snacks to share. I think this is a great way to build morale in the school.

How Project Benefits Students

This project will also allow my students with social skills / social communication goals to practice their social interactions in a natural way.

Expected Outcome(s)

Students will have natural opportunities to work on social interaction and exchanges, as outlined on their IEPs. My caseload of ESE students will go into classrooms (different grade level (team) weekly) and deliver a treat to students in each of the classrooms. ESE students who have communication goals will practice social exchanges with peers in classrooms such as asking them what snack they would like. This will also promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusivity amongst our school campus. The targeted outcomes are to increase opportunities for natural communication with peers and teachers and to encourage acceptance and inclusion amongst students.
