Project Goal

The Chamber Music Project strives to engage students in student led small group learning through creation of student run small ensemble performances at Recital Nights.

How Project Benefits Students

1. Students are forced to become more independent, unable to hide within a large band.
2. Students have to achieve long term goals via creating backward planned small goals.
3. Students have to work together in order to generate a group product that can only succeed when equally carried by all members.
4. Students build relationships while finding a sense of worth and belonging.
5. The music books purchased will supply the band program with a wide variety of music for different instrumentations, skill levels, and musical interests.
6. Students will receive direct feedback from their judge's Florida Bandmasters Association assessment sheet that will guide their preparation for their next musical venture as each aspect of their performance is scored A, B, C, D, or F.

Expected Outcome(s)

1. Students become more invested in the community of the Band program and proud contributors of their school.
2. Students gain more independence in music literacy.
3. Students cross apply the higher tier concepts of musicality such as balancing volume, blending tone, and matching style that is a major part of the full band curriculum.
4. Families become more invested in the child's involvement in Band and proud of the products their child is generating at Hill Middle School.
