Our goal is to increase student's imagination, communication, fine and gross motor skills by building a multisensory playground where students of all abilities have the opportunity to engage in free play activities that enhance their learning.
Students will build fine and gross motor skill through sand play, block racetrack and cars, wall of art, ball run, and musical sound wall. They will increase their opportunity to engage in musical and artistic free play with the sound wall and wall of art. Students will be exposed to a variety of critical thinking skills by brainstorming how to use the ball tubes and building the racetrack in order for them to play. The sand play, water play, and instruments will provide multisensory play for a variety of students. Adding the diverse learning areas to our playground will strengthen language and problem-solving skills.
The students will increase their creativity and imagination as well as their fine and gross motor skills by adding a variety of art, music, science, and math areas throughout the playground. This project is being planned for our primary playground which will benefit approximately 500 students and teachers in grades kindergarten to second.
The total cost of this project will be $1,265.00.
