I'm a first-year teacher! The goal of my grant is to help my students develop their English language acquisition and vocabulary to become proficient writers and readers. I want to instill confidence through daily practice and support to help my 40 ELL students grow.
The project will directly affect my students daily. They will be completing a daily language practice, which will support their growth and allow them to develop our complex language. We will also complete a paragraph a week, focusing on conversations and structure. We will continue to grow throughout the year until they are confidently writing a three to four-paragraph paper. With the help of this grant, my students will have a variety of resources to support their learning process. The majority of my students have English as their second language and through this grant, they will be able to develop as writers and readers.
The expected outcome is that my students can independently complete a variety of writing pieces. This grant will directly affect 40 students in my class because I will be teaching two separate classes of ELA. I will also be collaborating with my ELA partner; therefore, two teachers' classes will be supported through this grant.
