Find It Fund It Florida - Hillsborough Education Foundation

Our project goal is to host a memorable awards ceremony for our 8th-grade students to celebrate their achievements before they enter high school. The school's theater is currently undergoing renovations and will not be available for this event. However, we see this as an opportunity to hold this celebration off-site and in the evening, allowing more parents and staff to attend and acknowledge the achievements of our students. The success of our project can be measured through increased attendance and participation of parents and family members at the evening awards ceremony compared to previous daytime events.

How Project Benefits Students

The 8th Grade Awards Ceremony is an important event that recognizes the hard work and dedication of students. Although it's not directly related to the academic curriculum, it plays a crucial role in motivating and encouraging students to continue their educational journey and set higher goals for themselves as they transition to high school. The 8th Grade Awards Ceremony will be a one-time event held in the evening to accommodate parents' schedules and allow them to witness their child's achievements. This change in timing is a departure from previous years but is designed to foster a stronger school-home partnership and make the ceremony more accessible to families. By involving the family in the ceremony, students feel supported and encouraged in their educational journey.

Expected Outcome(s)

If the award ceremony were to take place with the suggested changes, it is highly likely that there would be a considerably greater number of parents and family members in attendance as compared to the previous daytime events held in the school theater. The new timing and location in the evening at an alternate venue would allow more people to join in celebrating and acknowledging the achievements of the students.

Furthermore, the change in venue and timing would provide a distinctive and memorable experience for the students as they receive their awards before moving on to high school. This recognition could have a positive impact on their morale and motivation, potentially contributing to their future academic success.
