How Project Benefits Students

Praise good behavior by showing the children that good behavior is the best way to get attention. The Dojo store will be used to promote positive behavior. The students will be allowed to shop at the store based on a point system. After a child reaches a certain number of points they can shop at the Dojo store. The students can earn point by being on task in during independent work. Students can earn points for collaborating in group work. Students can earn points for lunch time which seems to be a difficult time for some students. I will have a lunch monitor that will report back to the teach who was on task during lunch to earn their point. The students can also earn points for going above and beyond by assisting peers and remaining consistent with his or her behavior. Each time a can earn 1 point at a time. The number of points a student can earn a day will not exceed 7 points. The store will be set up with items ranging from 10-200 points. Students can also use their points to have lunch with the teacher.
