Students will be encouraged to be nice, respectful students towards each other, adults, and their classroom. Students will develop and master one to one counting/sorting/addition/subtraction skills through tracking their tickets. Students will be responsible for completing homework and communicating with their parents about their school day. Students will also be introduced to the concepts of saving versus immediate spending.
School-Wide, Grade-Level, Or Class Events/Programs - Parent Nights, Honor Roll Celebrations, EOY Events, etc.
The students will earn tickets to purchase items directly or trade for a scratch off ticket for a surprise prize. They will earn tickets by getting their conduct chart signed by their parents daily, completing homework assignments and being class leaders. Fostering an independent, intrinsic motivation to complete tasks and be an active participant in their learning and have a positive impact on their learning environment and treatment of their peers.
Students will be kind and respectful to each other and adults creating a learning environment that is positive and impactful. Students will develop organizational skills and build people skills, keep up with personal belongings, and begin to build independence. They will all improve counting, sorting, addition and subtraction skills through ticket handling. I will be using unit pre and post tests and looking at PM1,2,3 data results for improvement.
