The goal of this project is to provide students with hands-on science lab materials that will engage our young Heritage Scientists with the 3rd grade science standards.
Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.
This project will create a true science lab experience across a wide range of standards using real world science tools. How light can be reflected, refracted, or absorbed is a major third grade standard. The prisms and mirrors are essential for true mastery of this specific standard. The thermometers, pan and digital scales will aid our students as we measure temperature, mass and volume. Lastly, the microscope and telescope will benefit our students as they learn about 3rd grade items big (stars) and small (spores)
My expected outcome is that students will retain science concepts long-term with these lab supplies as measured by our district form and quarterly assessments. These materials will also be able to be used for Heritage students for years to come.
