The goal of my project is to use math and logic-style games during my gifted classes' STEM time to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity while promoting collaboration among peers.
Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.
This project will benefit the students by making learning more engaging and improving the students' problem-solving skills. This project will provide math and logic-style board games for my students to use during STEM time (two 30-minute sessions each week). I plan to use these materials all year long. Since these materials are non-consumable, they will be available for many years.
The expected outcomes of this project would be an improvement in students' problem-solving skills and abilities to work collaboratively and communicate effectively. I will give the students a pre-test before using the materials and a post-test at the end of the year. I expect students' scores to increase by 15% and their cooperative skills to improve as well.
Grant request is for physical board and card games to be used during STEM time in a gifted classroom. Total cost is $241.35.
