Project Goal

To allow our 2nd grade students to have hands on experience with animals to enhance their knowledge of life cycles. This will be shown with a 70% passing rate on our life cycle unit test.

Category

School-Wide, Grade-Level, Or Class Events/Programs - Parent Nights, Honor Roll Celebrations, EOY Events, etc.

How Project Benefits Students

We are a Magnet School and one of our units is on lifecycles of living things. This on-site field trip would allow our students to see real life examples of animals from babies to adult. This is one time only experience.

Expected Outcome(s)

That the children will be able to describe the life cycle of one of the animals from baby to adult based on real life experience.
We will know if this has been accomplished if the grade level passing rate on our unit exam is 70% or above.

Detailed Cost Summary

The first hour- $250, every extra hour is $100. (We are planning on three hours total to get all the classes through with a half hour instruction and half hour hands on each hour.)
The first half hour is a lesson by a certified teacher and the second half hour is hands on with the animals.
