My goal is to increase literacy and comprehension in my kindergarten students by providing them ELA center activities.
Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.
Every day during our ELA block we have small group rotations. The story listening center has many benefits which include increasing children's attention, reading comprehension and vocabulary. The phonics centers provide the students many differentiated opportunities for hands on learning.
Children who participate in phonics activities for reading fluency will be able to identify words and pronunciations more quickly and readily, increasing their confidence and reading comprehension. I will be giving the children bi weekly progress monitoring assessments through dibels and Ufli. This data will help me determine if the tools are increasing the retention.
