Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Theresa Pietruszka - $295.90
Students this year have been challenged to make sculptures out of discarded cardboard. Cardboard is a difficult material to work with without the proper equipment. We are requesting $295.90 for a kid safe carboard cutter and a class set of trauma shears to cut the cardboard by hand with ease.

Every year our art club participates in an enrichment activity known as the "Doodad Competition". This competition has not only added to the vast experiences of our artists but has pushed them into thinking beyond the classroom setting and how art can be created out of the most unusual of items.
From the Doodad website:
"The Repurposed Doodad Sculpture Competition challenges students to repurpose specific items or “doodads” to create an artistic expression of a theme. In so doing, students research and immerse themselves in some aspect of the theme. The doodads are common items that are typically discarded. Students learn about these items in the context of their impact on the environment – both as utilization of scarce resources and as contributors to waste. The doodads for this year’s competition are Fabric and Household Cardboard Boxes, one of which must be a Delivery Box"
Students will create a set of sculptures to be entered into this year's Doodad Sculpture Competition.
InvenTABLE is a kid-safe cardboard cutting tool. Trauma shears are used like scissors, but able to cut through cardboard
