Kenly Elementary School is continuing and extending our PBIS/ROAR system for rewarding students' appropriate behaviors throughout the 2024-25 school year. We have been successful with increasing students' motivation, learning, practicing of appropriate behaviors within a variety of settings throughout the school day. We are focusing on our "ROAR" values: Respect; Own your actions; Always do your best; and Responsible Citizens. We have implemented a digital/hard copy point system which allows teachers to track points through Live School. The earned points will be added to each student's "bank" which they can save or spend however they like at the ROAR store or scheduled School-wide Events throughout the school year! We are requesting financial assistance to purchase the items to be sold at our ROAR Store and/or utilized during planned events. We wish to have items/activities to incentivize our students to learn and implement social emotional skills that will increase student learning and provide long term life skills.
School-Wide, Grade-Level, Or Class Events/Programs - Parent Nights, Honor Roll Celebrations, EOY Events, etc.
Kenly Elementary has the wonderful opportunity to engage and instruct children from many walks of life. While we engage their minds and get them focused on learning, we also want to produce kind, considerate and respectful students! We feel our PBIS initiative will work towards providing a sense of community and encourage responsible, respectful and proud young men and women.
We will be monitoring our data closely, as it is documented in Live School, and in our documentation of school-wide office referrals. It will be provided to our Tier 1 PBIS coaches, faculty, staff and admin to review and encourage fidelity and success for our students and teachers. Last school year we had 40 documented disciplinary office referrals that required out of school suspensions. This school year, it is our goal to decrease office referrals to no more than 25. During pre-planning, we will train our faculty/staff on the PBIS program and the school-wide ROAR expectations. We are very excited to continue with our ROAR PBIS plan during the 24-25 school year. Kenly's school motto this year is, " Let the adventure begin." We will begin with ensuring that all stakeholder's are packed with motivation and knowledge of the school-wide expectations and ready to faithfully incorporate these appropriate behaviors into our daily routine. We want our school stakeholders to be imbedded throughout every aspect of our school, starting with our families, allowing our teachers to TEACH, our students to LEARN and continuing our journey to obtaining the school grade of an "A".
The administration, faculty and staff, strive for our students to take pride in their education. Our students are excited to be able to earn points and like to purchase supplies, toys and activities that they can use in class, participate in with their friends and play with at home. Some of our students only receive hand-me-downs or free items. Providing our students with the opportunity to purchase prizes that they have earned will continue to incentivize our students to remain engaged in our PBIS program, (increasing appropriate behaviors and providing a safe and cooperative learning environment).
