How Project Benefits Students

The PB&J project for the homeless will have FBLA members marketing to the school for ALL students to come volunteer their time after school to make sandwiches for the homeless. The sandwich making events take place every other week throughout the school-year.

Through each event, the students that participate will learn the skills needed to work as a team to complete a project and development their character development skills in realizing that there are less fortunate people in our community.

Expected Outcome(s)

We expect to have the FBLA members learn business and marketing skills in promoting our project to the school and the community. We expect to have about 30-35 students at each event making sandwiches so that we can turn out about 300 sandwiches at each event and to hit our goal of 4,200 sandwiches this year.

Parents, PTSA, and community partners will pick up the sandwiches from the school and deliver them to Nativity Peanut Butter Sandwich Ministry who will deliver those sandwiches to the homeless shelters and food pantries around the county.

This year-long project is giving our students a feeling of pride and self-worth as they make our community a better place.
