The goal of this project is to help support special education students in the general education inclusion classroom.
Class Furniture - Carpets, choral risers, transitional seating/desks, etc.
This project benefits the students with various needs to help support them with self-regulation tools/strategies and by providing additional resources to support their individualized independent academic growth. Our KIC (Kindergarten Inclusion Classroom) currently supports six ESE (3 kindergarten and 3 first grade) students with various academic, communication and behavioral needs. By providing our special education students these tools/strategies and access to independent task boxes, this project will also support the general education students in the classroom by helping to provide more time for overall learning and academic growth. This is year two of our school providing a KIC section and although this grant is specific to student needs for this year, many more students will have access to these items as inclusive practices continue to grow.
