Find It Fund It Florida - Hillsborough Education Foundation

Thompson wants to Make Lasting Memories for its current 5th grade class while incorporating STEM and Social Studies by visiting EPCOT. This grant will support providing a meal for the students as they embark on a STEM and social studies learning experience. We raised enough funds to support the cost of the trip but not enough to cover the food. By the end of this field trip, students will:
1. Identify key scientific principles demonstrated at Epcot (e.g., innovation, energy, ecosystems).
2. Explore cultural diversity through the World Showcase pavilions.
3. Collaborate in teams to complete an educational scavenger hunt.
4. Reflect on how technology and culture influence our daily lives.
Students will take a pretest using cultural worksheets. They will describe how technology has changed over time and effects our daily lives. What effects ecosystems have on the world.

How Project Benefits Students

The 110 students will be provided a meal for the day. The students will embark on a trip where they will see STEM in action as well as replicas of various places around the world. They will learn the culture and history of other countries while making memories with their friends. This probably will be a once in a lifetime experience for the majority of our students. This grant will fund the much need 110 food vouchers.

Expected Outcome(s)

The expected outcome is 90% of our 5th graders will pass the post test on cultures around the world and how technology and ecosystems effect our daily lives by the end of the trip. They will learn about cultures around the world. They can answer questions about different countries cultures. Our students will become more knowledgeable about other cultures. The progress will be measured by students' responses from the pretest to the post test. The students will also go on the morning show and share what they have learned with the other 700 students within our school.

Detailed Cost Summary

The cost of the food voucher is $17.47 per person, and we are in need of 110. Thus, the total of $1921.70.
There is a total of 125 however, I adjusted the number to 110 because that keeps it under $2000.00
