As a teacher, I always look forward for my students to have first-hand experience learning. Going outside the four corners of the classroom gives them opportunity to learn more at the same time looking forward on a one-of-a-kind experience.
School-Wide, Grade-Level, Or Class Events/Programs - Parent Nights, Honor Roll Celebrations, EOY Events, etc.
This fieldtrip will definitely excite and motivates the students to learn more. They will have opportunity to see, touch and learn species that they've never been seen yet. They will be amazed to see different animals that lives in the ocean. hands-on learning and experience will be one of the best teachers they can have. Aside from the fun and firsthand learning experience, this trip will also help them develop some of the top least learned standards in Reading and Math. We went over the standards, from the data we have from testing, our students struggle on comparing and contrasting in Reading while in Math, graphs. This is a best opportunity to cover those standards. We will provide activity sheets during the trip for them to answer. The sheets include comprehension questions, Venn Diagram for comparing and contrasting, bar graph and line graph.
After the fieldtrip, the students are expected to increase their knowledge of marine life and ecosystem, to be aware of conservation, enhance engagement with science, develop their critical thinking skills and promote collaboration through sharing insights about the things they will see. Also, the expected goal is 60% of the students will have a mastery on the standard, Comparing and Contrasting in Reading, as well as a big help in answering comprehension question and graphs in Math.
