Hands-on ROCK exploration will create excitement about Earth Science and provide lasting memories. The goal of this project is to allow students who join Rock Club to actively explore the physical properties of different rocks and minerals which supports our 4th grade Earth Science standard. Rock Club will take place for many years, not just this year.
Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.
I am requesting science kits and games that teach students about rocks and minerals (which is a 4th grade science standard). Students will get to observe, classify, and identify rocks. They will be able to watch weathering and erosion with hands-on activities. They will be able to explain the steps of the rock cycle. They will tumble rocks to create their own beautiful specimens that can be put on display or made into jewelry.
This will be the start of their love of rock collecting! Rock Club students will be amazed to learn about how rocks are formed and how many types of rocks and minerals there are on our planet.
The expected outcome Rock Club is to experience hands on observation, identification, and classification of various types of rocks and minerals in order to support content knowledge for Earth Science.
Pre-Test about Rocks and Minerals using Earth Science State Standards.
Goal: Post Test scores will increase by 30%
