Category

Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.

How Project Benefits Students

The students in the class are verbal and nonverbal aged 3 yrs and 4 years who are performing below their ability level. The students will be taught to identify letters and sounds to blend words which will enable them to read words, sentences and/or short stories.

The students will be able to make one to one correspondence with numbers in math so they can count up to 20.

These activities will be done daily for this academic year with students that need reinforcement and review of skills to be proficient by the end of this school year. These tools will enhance students' academic performance, build confidence and increase self-esteem. They can be used with students in the future years as well.

Expected Outcome(s)

In Reading, the students will be able to identify the 26 letters by the end of the year as well as corresponding sounds of each alphabet. This will enable them to write their name of the paper. 70% of the verbal students would be able to blend 3 letter short vowel words. In Math, 80% of the verbal students will be able to count till twenty as well as do one to one correspondence. They will be able to add up to sum of 5. As students improve fluency, they will be proficient in reading and math to meet the skills required for KG.
