As a science teacher I am always elated to watch my students beam with excitement as they learn about the world.
School-Wide, Grade-Level, Or Class Events/Programs - Parent Nights, Honor Roll Celebrations, EOY Events, etc.
They will have the opportunity to dig deeper into the most mysterious part of the world, the ocean. They will have the opportunity to see, touch and learn about the underwater life they have not yet explored. Aside from the fun and firsthand learning experience, this trip will also help them develop some of least learned standards in Reading and Math. We have gone over the standards from the date we have from testing our students struggle on comparing and contrasting in reading while in math, graphs. This is the best occasion to cover the standards. We will provide activity sheets during the trip for them to answer. the sheets include comprehension questions, Venn diagrams for comparing, bar graph and line graph.
After the fieldtrip, the students are expected to increase their knowledge of marine life and ecosystem, to be aware of the conservation, enhance engagement with science, develop their crictical thinking skills, and promote collaboration through sharing insights about the things they will see. Also, the expected goal is 60% of the students will have a mastery on the standard, comparing and contrasting in reading, as well as a big help in answering comprehension question and graphs in Math
