Goal

Our students are a technological generation. Using the classroom response system gives them the opportunity to participate in a comfortable environment, without the fear of failure. It will provide immediate feedback to the teacher on areas of weakness. This will provide students another way to promote active learning in the classroom. It is not a substitute for direct instruction or class discussions but a tool to extend the goals of the classroom.

What will be done with my students

The students will use the response remotes as bell ringers. I will use the data to determine if we need to review the concepts or begin a new objective.
They can also be used as exit slips to obtain information on the mastery of the objectives. Periodically they will be used for quizzes, but will not be the only type quiz. Students need the opportunity to answer extended response questions.

Benefits to my students

Using the remotes allow every child to participate without fear of failure. It provides immediate feedback not only to the teacher but also to the students. Students will not fear competition because the responses can remain anonymous to other students in the classroom.

Budget Narrative

The Classroom Response System contains the software and 24 remotes. The cost is $1045 and any funds will help secure this equipment.
