Goal

My goal is for students to master the FSA math standards in a fun, interactive way through cooperative learning, centers, and small group teacher instruction. 

 

What will be done with my students

Students will be working at math stations for 30-40 minutes each day. They will rotate through the stations. The stations will include practicing a review skill through hands-on games, computers, and working with me or a support facilitator at the teacher station. While at the review station, they will be working in small groups (no more than 3 students in a group) on games that are hands-on and interactive. 

 

Benefits to my students

Students will be using all modalities (visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic) of learning. While working in small groups, students will be sharing and discussing with one another. They will be receiving extra practice on skills in a fun and interactive way. When working with me in a small group setting, I will be able to review a previously taught skill, practice a current skill, and preview an upcoming skill. I will be able to assess each student's level of mastery of standards and offer extra help when needed. 

 

Budget Narrative

I am ordering games and materials for games and small group instruction from Lakeshore Learning Materials and School Specialty. All materials purchased will be used throughout the school year during centers and at my teacher station.
