Nassau Education Foundation - $988.85
-My goal is to implement these super balls immediately into my Physical Education program here at my school for grades 3-5. These "super balls" will keep everyone involved from the highest skilled students to the lowest skilled student also. These balls will allow all individuals to feel they are having some level of success.
-My goal is to use these super balls every year as a unit in my P.E. curriculum. A unit that I could easily spend a month on with lots of fun and keeping students actively engaged at the same time.
-My classes range in size from 18 to 24 students.
-These super balls that I'm talking about are known as Omnikin balls. They are many varying type of Omnikin balls but the most popular is the 48" Kin-Ball. With this ball many activities can be played but the most common game played with it is called Kin-Ball. A super fun game where the class is divided into three teams and the teams must work together to serve and return the ball without letting it touch the ground.
-Other games that can be played with this ball are big ball volleyball, cooperative relays, big ball basketball, big ball soccer, multi-goal ball, and many others.
-They also are balls called omnikin super footballs. These super footballs take the danger out of football and allow for more player success. These footballs can be kicked, thrown, and caught without the fear of jamming a finger. Due to the size of these footballs it allows for all players to have more success. Instead of students feeling a lack of success they feel better since they had better achievement on a game that they normally might not.
-Fun, safe, active games to be played with them
-Keeps everyone actively involved not just the select few athletes in each class
-Will benefit every student in my school over 850 students
-Even the less skilled athletes will have a level of success
-The physically disabled and the autism students at our school will be able to enjoy these super balls
-The balls are durable (need to be since I see so many students over the course of one week). Will last for years and will be used year after year.
-Can incorporate immediately each year into my physical education plans. These games fit into the new generation sunshine state standards.
-Helps with cardiovascular endurance
-Teaches teamwork, throwing, catching, receiving, and spatial awareness
The above price represents the price for 2 48" Outdoor Omnikin Balls. The outdoors are they ones I need since I will be playing the game outside. The Omnikin Super Footballs are a set of 6. They are 13" diameter and allow for more success. The 48" replacement bladders will help me extend the life of the Omnikin balls. The official rule book explains the official game of Kin-Ball.
