Goal

My goal is to purchase a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone to teach my students about adding aerial videography to our digital editing repertoire. These skills will be very helpful for students, especially those who may pursue careers in art, marketing, or technology.

What will be done with my students

Our students will use this technology to record a new perspective of events that take place at the school (ie. sporting events, field days, experiments) and then learn how to incorporate this footage into videos that will be presented to future students. Student will use programs that they have learned about in my class to edit and add to their footage, to create beautiful high quality videos.

Benefits to my students

With the ever evolving world of technology, our students need to learn how to use the tools that can set them apart. In today's social networking society I cannot think of a better skill that to learn about photo/video editing. This skill is used in student presentations to marketing yourself for jobs and colleges. Having the ability and experience of using this medium will only give the students a leg up on their peers. Having new and cool technology really engages the students, especially those who do not always succeed with traditional classroom methods. This also gives those students another outlet to express things that they are good at.

Budget Narrative

This includes everything needed to get the drone, batteries, memory card, and proper storage. It is all included in the bundle provided by DJI.
