Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Nassau Education Foundation - $3,867.00
To initiate the development and use of 3D Printing and design to be used in the classroom to advance the creative production of concepts and ideas.
Students will be able to use the 3D printer to create and learn in various disciplines.
Biology students will be able to design cells and see how the organells function and why cells are formed in strategic manners.
Chemistry students will be able to design their own molecules and relate abstract thoughts to concrete figures.
Art students will be able to use their creativity to create 3D designs and jewelery
The hope is that this cutting-edge technology will open new dimensions to science education and will make a marked impact in developing student involvement and creativity. Their affordable costs plus the huge open source 3D examples available for free already make the systems a very attractive technology.
In education, printing 3d objects based on formulas can help students to better visualize complex structures. Conceptual knowledge can benefit from 3D printing technology's capability to make malleable, objects, shortening the time taken to devise a particularsolution and to then evaluate the outcome. With 3D technology, one can learn faster through practice and be more productive through experience.
Per a quote to John Wilson from Troxell the actual costs will be 477.00,2364.00,1000.00 and 26.30 for a total cost of 3867.00. We have an accessible but locked and controlled room to house the unit.
