Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
- $546.00
The goal of this project is to get students cognitively engaged with science concepts by doing hands-on science inquiry with life and earth science. Students will be able to see how these science concepts relate to the real world by investigating cause & effect with symbiosis, fossils, and rocks.
Students will be able to do hands-on laboratory investigations dealing with ph balance in a pond ecosystem, symbiosis in nature, weathering with the rock cycle, and how fossils are formed. Students will be able to interact with the materials and make higher level associations that can be applied in rigorous questions about the experiment.
Students in my 7th grade class, 115 students, will be able to work in small groups, 4-5, and examine the interactions between science concepts and how they relate to one another. This investigation involves movement, visual & auditory presentation, and group discussions that allows them to be actively engaged in the learning process.
This is order from Frey Scientific and involves there investigative lab kits and corresponding diagrams from their website.
