Goal

The goal of this grant is to provide a quality communication system in the FBMS Auditorium.

What will be done with my students

Students will engage in an intensive 3 week unit on lighting and sound. During this unit, students will learn how to program and operate our lighting and sound system. The grant will provide students with the capability, knowledge and practice to communicate back stage with the stage crew from the tech booth in the front of the auditorium.

Benefits to my students

This communication equipment will serve several purposes. The FBMS drama, band, and chorus program have 8-10 productions a year. Each production puts the students in charge of sets, lighting, sound and communication. The students and teachers, need a way to communicate with each other during every performance. In addition, our auditorium is the only one in Nassau county that services surrounding schools as well as community groups with their productions. They too, need a way to communicate in our state of the art facility.

Budget Narrative

We realize it is over budget but hope you will consider the need for a high quality back stage communication system in our facility.

Listed above are numbers to indicate the $1000 maximum. I have attached a PDF that explains the entire grant request for a communication system. This will allow back stage crew to speak to the lighting and sound crew in the auditorium during productions. In addition, if the full grant cannot be requested, I can divide some items in half and eliminate the cable cords. The grant above is the reduced version of that grant but the following items have been adjusted to fit into the $1000 frame.
1. The last entry with the * was reduced by $9.00 The cost per item is $280.00
2. shipping and handling was omitted. That cost is $42.00
3. The reduced version of the grant would total $2141.00
