Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Nassau Education Foundation - $468.99
For all of the gifted students at Emma Love Hardee to obtain basic movie making techniques including, filming, reviewing, editing and making/ processing movies via Windows Movie Maker.
Students will be studying the Oregon Trail next year and will be completing a simulation unit where students are divided up into families, given supplies, and have to make group decisions on how to survive on the Oregon trail. I would like to have to students create an end of the year movie as if they were the actual family and have them recreate and act out their problems and solutions. Students will dress in time period attire and present their movies to the peers. Students will be responsible for all movie aspects.
Students love seeing themselves on camera. Not only will the students be learning technology with video skills, they will also be self assessing their video footage to determine how to make it better for future videos. This will be a life skill that students can use outside of the classroom or in higher level schooling for other projects as well.
