Goal
Our goal is to improve reading comprehension, to get struggling readers excited about reading, and to motivate reluctant readers to read more.
What will be done with my students
Students in the Language Arts classes will be able to check out the devices upon the recommendation of their teacher. They can listen to the device and follow along with the book.
Benefits to my students
I think this will be a great motivator for our reluctant readers and will give them the opportunity to listen to books that they might not be able to read on their own. Students' listening level is usually higher than their reading level so this would be a great tool for struggling readers as well as those reluctant to read.
Budget Narrative
The cost of the playaways range from $39.99 to $99.99. Unfortunately, our media budget is very limited. The cost of 15 playaways from Follett is $834.85, $10.35 processing, for a grand total of $845.20
