Goal

The goal of this grant is to supply the Dramatic Arts department with much needed theatre makeup and props to support the performance model of our program.

What will be done with my students

The students will participate in an intensive 4 week study of theatre makeup products, application, and design. They will learn how to apply stage makeup as well as character style makeup such as old age and zombie. Students will be responsible for applying their makeup and the makeup of others for our numerous yearly productions. In addition, students will take ownership of their theatre by installing new safety lighting and organizing the costume and prop rooms.

Benefits to my students

The benefit of this grant reaches beyond the classroom. Students will be able to assist in makeup technique and application in classroom productions as well as community productions. Learning the "behind the scenes" techniques allows the students to engage in all aspects of theatre. Students will also learn how to organize the costume, prop, and set building rooms.

Budget Narrative

This grant will serve a multitude of purposes in my classroom. We will have new makeup, prop and theatre supplies that we are in desperate need of but cannot afford as we are an unfunded program.
