Goal

To effectively communicate with 250 students, their parents, and volunteers to organize schedules, both through the school day and after school shows and competitions.

What will be done with my students

This project has two elements, first communication and secondly, students' ability to take leadership roles within the production team to provide information and resources that were impossible in the past.

This allows students schedules to work around other clubs, tutoring and jobs while still giving them access to the arts. All the while also contacting parents through overviews, weekly, and daily updates and online access to our musical next year Beauty and the Beast, where last year only 22 of our 65 students were able to receive scripts due to cost. They will be able to collaborate through digital scripts and collaboration for the first time and have 24/7 access to reading materials and notes!

Benefits to my students

Somehow my students were able to memorize a full musical and attend enough rehearsals around their insane work schedules and only 1/3 of them owning scripts this past year in just 10 weeks. Unfortunately, due to communication barriers of individual schedules with students and resource restrictions, many students did drop out (still finishing with 60+ students.) How can my students and I create an environment that benefits their passion for arts, yet holds them responsible through their many obligations?

1. Visual Stage Management allows my students to input their schedules based on their role in productions and classes to create schedules and reminders that work for their group members both during classes and afterschool. It also keeps parents and other volunteers involved in schedules to know when space is available or characters for extra preparation time. This should lower their stress levels and dive more often into their scriptwork.

2. Production Pro provides the cast and creative team with the digital script and piano vocal score, and allows you to sort and share designs, choreography videos and more in an interactive Character-Scene breakdown. Digital Scripts are available on all devices - including Android, iPad, PC, and Mac.--This allows our students to read more frequently when THEY want to, as opposed to when they can "find" a script from someone else.

Budget Narrative

Both programs are annual costs, however, when our students adapt to this creative and technologically advanced method of communication, they will dedicate more time to organization and time management. Both skills that are completely related to every classroom and future career.
