Goal

The goal of this proposal is to increase the visibility and prominence of the Spanish River girls' basketball team by purchasing 15 new uniforms, three additional official basketballs and a charter bus for one away game. Currently, the team is partially funded by the school district, but the opportunity to fundraise will greatly assist the team in accomplishing this goal.  

What will be done with my students

We request the opportunity to raise $3500 for new varsity uniforms, including modern-styled jerseys and shorts. The current varsity uniforms are greater than 5 years old. Although they are not yet showing signs of wear, we hope to give junior varsity players the current varsity uniforms while they still are appropriate for the program. New uniforms should last 5+ years.

We also request 3 official high school girls' basketballs for similar reasons above. It will demonstrate our commitment to fielding a competitive basketball team.

We also request the opportunity to raise $500 for a charter bus to take on a trip to play Pahokee High School, which is about 65 miles away. Both varsity and junior varsity girls and coaches will travel to this game.  

Benefits to my students

New uniforms should demonstrate the program's commitment to girls' basketball and increase the visibility of the team in the school and the district. Funding a charter bus to Pahokee High School not only will ensure that all players arrive at such a far distance safely, it will build team camaraderie as both teams will travel together and be available to root each other on. 

Budget Narrative

Currently, the Spanish River Girls' Basketball Team is partially funded by the school district. Last year, the team was able to raise funds through soliciting donations online. It is our hope that this platform will be of better assistance in raising funds for the items listed above.
