Thank you so much to those of you that donated to this project! We just received our order of books and the kids will get to start checking them out tomorrow. The titles were selected based on the interest of the students, so I know they will enjoy them very much.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To replace our most loved series and books that are falling apart due to the constant use of these favorites.

What will be done with my students

Students will be provided with new copies of some of their favorite series and topics for check out in the Media Center. Students will also be able to demonstrate their understanding and comprehension of the books they have read through testing on the Accelerated Reader program.

Benefits to my students

Providing students with books that spark their interests is key when motivating them to read on a regular basis. The students at Union Academy filled out a wish list at the beginning of the year requesting certain series and additions to series we already own. Part of providing reading materials to young people is listening to their opinions on what they enjoy reading the most. The following list of books contain requests and replacements for books in our Media Center at Union Academy.
