Goal

My goal is to use the classroom iPad for enrichment activities with art-making apps (i.e. Faces iMake, Paper, & ArtStudio); to easily access The Cloud of student artwork, images of students working, and instructional videos to aid students who may need more in depth instruction; and create instructional videos that use students as the instructors.

What will be done with my students

Students will use a variety of art-making iPad apps as enrichment activities when they complete their artwork assignments in class. The iPad will also be used for small group instruction - an extension of our art lesson. Students will be showcased in other art classes as “art instructors” and broadcasted on our Eagle Nest News morning show. Students will have more artwork submitted in online exhibits and websites like Artsonia.com (a website that produces student artwork on a variety of gifts that can be purchased with a portion of funds coming back to our art department).

Benefits to my students

Students will benefit from the exposure of their art in various avenues. The iPad would be extremely useful for taking quality images of student artwork that could be uploaded to Artsonia.com, submitted for online art exhibits, and submissions for the Polk Museum of Art student exhibits. I would have the capability of building lessons through the Davis iPad app with instant access to portfolios for each lessons, and would be able to actually add images of students’ working and student artwork examples to create a slide show instantaneously. Beyond this, taking video of my student artist of the week, and capturing students explaining techniques/elements/principles used in art will boost student confidence and morale.
