What will be done with my students
Benchmark: WL.K12.NM.1.1,1.2,1.3,6.1-
Demonstrate understanding of basic words, phrases, and questions about self and personal experiences through gestures, drawings, pictures, and actions, recognize basic practices and perspectives of cultures where the target language is spoken such as greetings, and holiday celebrations, learn to describe a family from another country, describing a house, family, and learning vocabulary related to Hispanic holidays and traditions.
Benefits to my students
I work in a school where a high volume of low-income families predominates, and I work with a popularity of immigrant families, both Hispanic and from other nations. The Volusia District school curriculum includes the study of the life and cultural customs of different countries, making my class very dynamic and loved by my students from other years. It's because of this experience they would help my students to exchange and capture what they learned in classes and even more so share their personal experiences, receiving support in the material and emotional aspects. They love seeing the work they are so proud of displayed on bulletin boards and in the classroom. In previous years it has been difficult due to the lack of these basic materials that many parents cannot provide. The materials that I request here are perfect to allow me to show the school, friends, and supervisors the talent that each child possesses. Every work done in class, projects, and presentations about World Language is a rewarding experience since this triumph is not mine, it is my students who want to improve themselves in a thousand ways, and this class is one of them. With only these basic art materials we can make a big difference, and we are helping them to feel more confident in my class or any other class by sharing beautiful experiences on what they are doing.
