Goal

I am excited to implement a project to equip my classroom with headphones and a color printer to enhance our online learning experiences and community engagement. The headphones will allow students to participate fully in online activities such as Nearpod, a interactive learning platform that requires individual headsets. Additionally, the color printer will enable students to print materials in color for various projects, including menus, advertisements, brochures, and other items they create. As our class is actively involved in various school and community fundraisers, the color printer will be a valuable asset in producing high-quality, eye-catching materials that help us promote our events and raise awareness for our causes. This project aims to provide students with the tools they need to succeed and engage more effectively with their learning, while also fostering a sense of community and teamwork.

What will be done with my students

The standards and Benchmarks that will utilize technology in the Family Consumer Sciences curriculum are 2.04,2.06, 3.04, 3.06, 4.04, 4.06, 5.04, 5.06, 6.04, 8.04, 8.06, 9.0, 10.04. The standards and benchmarks all show that the students will need to utilize technology such as headphones and a color printer to complete research on the hospitality pathways and using technology associated with the careers in this category. These standards and benchmarks also cover menu development and computer based projects. Again, the students will use the headphones for computer based projects and will need to print their completed menus to display and show others.



 

 

Benefits to my students

The provision of headphones and a color printer in the online learning space will significantly enhance the learning experience for our students. With headphones, students will be able to fully immerse themselves in their online lessons without distractions, allowing them to focus on the material and participate more effectively in discussions and activities. Moreover, having access to a color printer will enable students to complete colorful projects, menus, brochures, and advertisements that they might not have been able to produce at home due to lack of access to a printer. This will not only save them time and hassle but also allow them to bring their creative ideas to life. Without the burden of worrying about printing materials at home, students can focus on their learning and develop their skills without any obstacles, ultimately leading to improved academic performance and overall satisfaction with their online educational experience.
