Goal

The Silver Sands Middle School Band program is seeking funding to purchase a Fender Rumble 500 2x10" 500-Watt Bass Combo Amp. This new amp will replace our current outdated and underpowered classroom amplifier, allowing our jazz ensemble bassist to achieve a full, rich sound that complements the ensemble and enhances their overall performance.

What will be done with my students

This upgrade will directly benefit the Silver Sands Middle School Jazz Ensemble, which has an outstanding record with Music Performance Assessments (MPAs). As one of the largest Title 1 schools in the state, we are committed to providing our students with opportunities to perform regularly throughout the community. A high-quality bass amp will significantly enhance the quality of our performances and contribute to the continued success of our jazz ensemble.

This grant will also help bridge the gap in access to quality musical equipment for our students, many of whom come from low-income backgrounds. By providing them with the tools they need to succeed, we are empowering them to pursue their passion for music and achieve their full potential. 

 

Benefits to my students

This request aligns with the Teacher Classroom Grant Program's objective to encourage and support creative use of the curriculum that will provide enhanced learning experiences for students. The new bass amp will directly contribute to the following:

Enhanced Learning: Students will gain a deeper understanding of sound reinforcement, balance, and ensemble playing.
Improved Performance: The upgraded equipment will enable students to showcase their musical skills at a higher level, leading to more engaging and impactful performances.
Increased Access: By providing a practice amp for home use, we are increasing access to quality music education for all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background. 

 

Budget Narrative

This request aligns with the Teacher Classroom Grant Program's objective to encourage and support creative use of the curriculum that will provide enhanced learning experiences for students. The new bass amp will directly contribute to the following Florida State Standards for Music:

MU.68.S.3.1: Synthesize aural, visual, and kinesthetic experiences to perform with technical accuracy, expression, and stylistic integrity.
MU.68.S.3.3: Demonstrate proper tone production, articulation, intonation, and rhythm through solo and ensemble performance in a variety of styles.
MU.68.H.1.2: Analyze the stylistic features and performance practices of a variety of genres from diverse cultures.
MU.68.H.3.1: Describe the influence of historical events and periods on music composition and performance.
The Fender Rumble 500 is a durable and reliable amplifier that will serve the needs of our jazz ensemble for many years to come. By repurposing our old amp for home practice, we are maximizing the use of our resources and ensuring that all students have the tools they need to succeed.We believe this grant request represents a valuable investment in the musical education of our students. The new bass amp will not only improve the quality of our jazz ensemble's performances but also empower our students to reach their full potential as musicians and individuals.
