Goal

Provide access to our percussion students who cant afford sticks or mallets for class

Category

Class Furniture - Carpets, choral risers, transitional seating/desks, etc.

What will be done with my students

Our Band program is seeing record numbers this year and that means more students who are in need of materials they cant afford. The average percussion student spends about $200 on sticks and mallets before they play a note. The goal of this grant is to bring access to students who might have trouble affording that cost and ensure our students have what they need on day 1.
We are looking to purchase an assortment of Bell, Xylophone, and Marimba Mallets along with Snare sticks. We already have stick bags and practice pads to protect and manage checkout of materials to students.

Benefits to my students

One of the largest barriers for students to join music is the initial costs. When a student is gifted music they are given the gift of inclusion in a family that will benefit them for life. It is proven that students who stay in Band for multiple years show higher test scores and are more more desirable job applicants. Will you help us ensure all our students are successful.
