Goal

My goal is to for the students in my school to build relationships while making learning gains.

What will be done with my students

I am in charge of our 5th grade patrols. We have a patrols posted in between each classroom in the morning, while students are waiting to enter their classrooms. While they are sitting and waiting, I would like my patrols to engage the students in basic math and ELA study with the utilization of flash cards. These skills would include basic math facts, sight words, and letter/ number/shape identification and sounds.
Standards include:
ELA.K.F.1, ELA.1.F, ELA.2.F, MA.K.NSO.2, MA.1.GR.1, MA.3.AR.1.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students will receive extra practice with these skills on a daily basis without taking up instruction time and at no charge to parents. Working with our fifth grade leaders would also build relationships while promoting kindness and compassion across our campus.  

 

Budget Narrative

This budget is to provide the flashcards for each patrol post that is located between K-4 classrooms, along with sticker incentives.
